Excursion to Scottish Owl Centre

Sofia Soboleva is inviting you to visit Scottish Owl Centre on 15th of February. The centre is situated halfway from Edinburgh to Glasgow, in Whitburn. This is a unique place with the collection of around 1000 owls. There is no need to book the tour. Just turn up at the centre at 12pm. You will see a flying display of these beautiful birds. Display takes place in a barn so warm clothes are advisable.  Adult: £7.50, Child (age 3-15): £5.50, Concessions: £6.50, Family (2+2): £24, Groups (15+): £6.50/£4.50

Sofia and her daughter are then inviting you to the pottery painting studio Potter Around (from 13:30 to 15:00) situated in Kirknewton. The topic of the lesson is a decopatch. It is a great opportunity for children to learn something new and to be entertained. Light snack is provided by the club. Cost: £10.00

Celebrations of Languages and Cultures

Drummond Community High School is organising a very interesting event "Celebrations of Languages and Cultures".This event will take place on 23rd of February 2013 between 11.00 - 14.00 in concourse room. Various organisations and communities are going to participate in this event, including, Russian school, Chinese school, Turkish school, Polish school and many others.  It is expected, that this event will be visited by the representatives of Educational Authority. Professor Antonella Sorace will open the event and talk about benefits of bilingualism. Each organisation will have a Stall, national traditional food, music and poetry performances, art and craft stalls and many more.Our school choir (Choirmaster N.Perry) supported by parents will perform a few songs. Russian Edinburgh Art and craft table is organised by Anna Edovina and as always, children and parents will be involved into amazing educational and creative projects on Russian Language and Culture. Stall for Russian Edinburgh is organised by committee supported by parents.We would like to thank all parents who are willing to help with traditional national food stall. We encourage everyone who would like to participate in this event and bring a traditional dish of your country. Please contact committee if you wish to participate. All parents and children of Russian Edinburgh, as well as their guests, are welcome to come along to this "Celebration of Languages and Cultures" at Drummond Community High School.

Ceilidh

We would like to invite you for couple of hours of Ceilidh on the 17th of March. A good reason to have fun with your children. The event will be held in the hall of the German church, Laudate House at 1 Chalmers Crescent Edinburgh EH9 1TW. the programme will include Scottish dancing under the guidance of experienced instructors and tea during the break. Visitors can bring some biscuits to the tea.

Beginning at 14:00. Tea / coffee c 14:45 to 15:15
